Welcome to Squadron 18South central Indiana is a beautiful place to live. We enjoy it here and we'd like to invite you and everyone to come visit us. In addition to the region's natural beauty, there are many wonderful man-made attractions that make this area appealing. For example, Bloomington is where you'll find the main campus of Indiana University, one of the nation's premier institutions of higher learning. This community benefits from the university's ability to attract people, events and programs of international renown, as well as some of the best intercollegiate athletic competition in the country. Many well-known corporations have located facilities here. Lake Monroe, the state's largest, is nearby. Even if you can think of something not found here, there's a good chance it's not far away. We're close to just about everything including state parks, state forests, the Hoosier National Forest and a host of other indoor and outdoor recreational opportunities. This community is only an hour or two from many larger cities including Indianapolis, Louisville, Cincinnati, Chicago, St. Louis, etc. They don't call this "The Nation's Heartland" for nothing!
If you do ever find yourself in the Bloomington area, be sure to drop by and see us at the Burton Woolery American Legion Post 18. The address is 1800 West Third Street. The phone number is (812) 334-0500. It's a good spot to experience Hoosier Hospitality firsthand!
The Sons of The American Legion hold their meetings in the Post beginning at 7:00pm on the second Monday of each month.
